MONTHLY VILLAGE HALL MEETINGS
GROW AND SHOW COMPETITIONS RULES
This is how it works!
Each month we invite full members to bring along a floral, or fruit & veg, entry (or both!) which is displayed on the competition table in the back corner manned by Linda & Ann.
You do not have to grow anything special - just see what you have available and go for it.
It's one entry per member in each section.
Flowers
Up to three stems of the same variety.
Fruit/Vegetables
Up to three examples of one variety or up to ten berries of one variety.
Entries are to be from the member's own garden or allotment and this may include greenhouse and houseplants and that have been in their possession for a minimum of 6 months
What next?
Members on the night vote for their favourite flower entry and their favourite fruit & veg entry - One voting token only for each category. What you vote for is entirely at your own discretion
Voting tokens are added up and the winner in each category receives a £5 gift voucher.
Simple! No carry forward, or points system, just a simple monthly winner!
Quick tips
Do get your entries on the table early in the evening or you may miss out on valuable votes!
Think like a pro! Consider the competition displays you might have seen and have a go at trying it out, its great practice for our Summer Show.
Don't be shy, come and say hi! - We love to meet our members and have a chat.
Remember, you have to be in it to win it!
DATA AND DATA PRIVACY
By paying membership you agree to the club holding personal data about you to enable it to undertake the activities of the club. Your data - name, postal address, phone, email and publicity consent - are held in secure form and is only able to be accessed by approved members of the committee, or their agents, solely for purposes of running the club and communicating with you about its news and activities. You may request removal of your data in writing to the Secretary or Chairman. Upon removal of your data, your membership to the club will unfortunately be terminated. Data will be retained for no longer than 12 months after a member’s involvement with the Club has ceased. The club does not disclose personal data to any third party, except with your explicit consent.
