Medstead Gardeners' Club - Annual Plant Sale

PLANT SALE 2024

The 2024 Plant Sale will be back in Medstead Village Hall, on Saturday 18th May.

Open to the public from 10.30am til 12 noon.

Our Plant Sale preparation started in Autumn 2023 and goes right through until the day itself.

The Plant Sale is THE major fundraiser for the Club.
One of the main things this allows us to do is to book better speakers and cover a wide range of subjects and organise outings.
Success rests on as many members as possible getting involved in a variety of ways.

As a gardening club we hope that everyone can find a plant to divide, take cuttings from and grow on, or by sowing seeds and growing them ready in time for 18th May 2024.

There is a Plant Sale sub-committee whose responsibility is to plan and handle the running of the Sale. This includes making sure we have plants to sell, as well as recruiting members to help on the day.

Plant labelling

We need labels to be clean and clear with plant/variety, flower colour and it's expected size if possible. Please use capitals and your neatest possible hand-writing. Each plant must have it's own label. Pots should be clean and free from commercial labelling.

We would like to use common plant names as much as possible, as everyone understands these, rather than the more strict botanical names so the buyers know what they are buying.

"Before The Day" Plant Drop Off Points

Introduced a few years ago, we encourage as many of you as possible to drop your plants off at one of these sites before the day as this allows us to price up prior to the inevitable rush on Saturday morning.

All these drop-off points will be open from Thursday 9th May to Thursday 16th May inclusive. Please ensure you make contact before dropping-off to ensure the person is around.

"On The Day" Plant Drop Off

We would prefer anyone to bring plants to one of the drop-off points before the day. However if you are unable to, we will have a delivery point set-up on the morning of the Sale in the Wiltshire Room. Please ensure you bring your plants no later than 9am as we need time to price and arrange the plants accordingly. There will be no access to the main hall before the sale opens at 10.30am.
